This 1999 Acura NSX is the sixth of 51 special-edition models produced for the US market in commemoration of Alex Zanardi’s back-to-back CART championships in Honda-powered cars. Each car in the Zanardi Edition came finished in New Formula Red over a special black interior and also featured a fixed roof, unassisted steering, firmer suspension, lightweight BBS wheels, and additional weight-saving measures. Power is provided by a mid-mounted 3.2-liter DOHC V6 mated to a six-speed manual transaxle.

The 3.2-liter C32B V6 features dual overhead camshafts on each cylinder bank and utilizes VTEC variable valve timing.

Factory-rated output was 290 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque.

Service in preparation for sale included a valve adjustment, replacement of the fuel injectors on one cylinder bank, a fuel tank flush, and installation of a new fuel pump, spark plugs, ignition coils, and battery.

A new oxygen sensor was fitted, and fluid changes were performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle with a factory limited-slip differential.

A new ABS pump was installed and the ventilated brake rotors resurfaced.

A plaque on the rear firewall identifies this car as #06 of the 51 produced in the Alex Zanardi Edition and features an engraved version of the driver’s autograph.

The Alex Zanardi Edition model was produced with a fixed roof in lieu of the removable panel that was standard on North American-market cars after 1994. Further weight-saving equipment included a lightened rear spoiler, a single-pane glass partition, unassisted rack-and-pinion steering, and special BBS wheels.

Aluminum bodywork came finished in New Formula Red with mesh intake covers and other special accents.

Metallic gray forged BBS wheels were distinct to the edition, measuring 16” in diameter up front and 17” at rear and here wearing Bridgestone Potenza RE040 and Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 tires, respectively.

Zanardi Edition cars came with shock absorbers featuring higher compression and rebound rates than standard variants as well as stiffer springs, thicker rear sway bars, and lower ride height.

Four new shocks were fitted in fall 2024.

The cockpit is trimmed in black leather with perforated microsuede inserts as well as red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, handbrake lever, and floor mats.

A titanium shift knob is complemented by console trim of a similar tone, which is worn at the rear of the shifter opening.

Amenities include power-adjustable seats, air conditioning, electric windows and locks, and a cassette stereo linked to a six-disc CD changer.

The passenger-side armrest trim was refreshed in preparation for the sale.

A tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline and a 185-mph speedometer are set in a titanium-look surround and flanked by gauges monitoring coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage.

The separate six-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 19k miles.
