Power is provided by a 428ci Police Interceptor V8 with twin four-barrel Holley carburetors, and shifting is through a numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission. The GT500 model was added to Shelby American’s offerings for the 1967 model year, sharing the GT350’s styling while fitted with a higher-powered, FE-series engine. Design features introduced for 1967 Shelby Mustangs included an extended fiberglass nose panel and an elongated fiberglass hood with a functional scoop. Instrumentation includes an 8k-rpm tachometer and a 140-mph speedometer, with a five-digit odometer showing 33k miles.
