This 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible is powered by a replacement 400ci V8 mated with a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in blue over black vinyl upholstery. Features include a power-operated convertible top, power-assisted front disc brakes, power-assisted steering, 14″ Rally I wheels, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an MSD ignition coil and electronic ignition, an aluminum radiator, long-tube headers, and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Subsequent work consisted of repairing the convertible top mechanism and replacing the valve cover gaskets, head gaskets, alternator, brake master cylinder, front and rear shocks, upper and lower front ball joints and control arms, and the flexplate and rear pinion seal.
The replacement 400ci V8 have been sourced from a 1967 Pontiac and features an Edelbrock intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, an MSD ignition coil and electronic ignition, and long-tube headers. An aluminum radiator has been installed. The valve cover gaskets, head gaskets, alternator, and water pump divider plate were replaced in 2019.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The rear pinion seal and flexplate were replaced in 2019, the rear axle tubes were repaired to address leaks, and a custom transmission cross member mount was installed. A custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers has been fitted.
The body is finished in blue and have been repainted. Features include a power-operated convertible top, GTO badging, a hood scoop, stacked vertical headlamps, reverse lamps, chrome bumpers, bright finished rocker and wheel opening trim, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the rear bumper. The convertible top mechanism was repaired in 2022.
The 14″ painted Rally I wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps and are mounted with 205/75 BFGoodrich Silvertown redline tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The brake master cylinder, front and rear shocks, and upper and lower front ball joints and control arms were replaced in 2019.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in black vinyl joined by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Equipment includes faux woodgrain trim, a passenger grab handle, GTO badging, a center console, aftermarket rear speakers, polished door sills, and a digital stereo. The ignition switch was replaced in 2019.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel level gauge, and an analog clock. An aftermarket tachometer and auxiliary gauges are mounted below the center of the dashboard.
The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 76k miles, total mileage is unknown.
