This 1966 Ford Bronco was acquired in 2021 as a non-running project and subsequently underwent a refurbishment that involved refinishing the body, refreshing the interior, and replacing the engine, transmission, wiring harness, suspension, and brake system components. The truck is finished in Cactus Gray over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a Currie 44 front axle, a Ford 9″ rear end, an Atlas twin-stick transfer case, a winch, power steering, 17″ alloy wheels, power-assisted brakes, and power-retractable running boards. Additional features consist of a roll cage, Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital gauges, and a retro-style stereo with Bluetooth.
The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 was installed during the refurbishment and is equipped with a Ford Performance Parts control pack, an aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, ceramic-coated exhaust headers, and a 2.5″ exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Additional work included replacing the fuel tank and fuel
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a replacement six-speed 6R80 automatic transmission and a two-speed Atlas transfer case. Work performed during the refurbishment involved installing a Currie 44 front axle, a rear differential with 4.56:1 gearing, and replacement drive shafts and rear axle shafts.
The body was separated from the frame, stripped to bare metal, and fitted with replacement panels before being repainted in Cactus Gray. Additional work performed during the refurbishment involved replacing the windshield, coating the underside with bed liner material, and installing a black bimini top, a Smittybilt winch, a roll cage, one-piece door glass, wheel arch flares, aftermarket steel bumpers, and power-retractable running boards.
Fuel 17″ alloy wheels are wrapped in 35×12.50 General Grabber tires. Stopping power is from four-wheel discs, and replacement brake lines have been installed. The steering and suspension systems were fitted with James Duff components including a four-link rear setup, quad rear shock absorbers, and front coil springs.
The cabin was refreshed and features replacement front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dash pad, door panels, and a rubber floor liner. Additional work involved replacing the window regulators, coating the floor and bed area with bed liner material, and installing Bronco-script rear trim panels with red LED backlighting. Equipment includes a Vintage Air climate control system, a retro-style stereo with Bluetooth, a locking center console, front and rear shoulder belts, cup holders, and a twin-stick transfer case shifter.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a Dakota Digital gauge cluster that includes a 120-mph GPS speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure.
The digital odometer shows 230 miles, which reflect the distance traveled since the completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown.
