This 1965 Sunbeam Tiger has been certified as an authentic MK I by the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Association and was rotisserie restored, less than 500 miles have been added since the work was completed.The body was stripped to bare metal before being repainted, and the removable hardtop was also refurbished.Power comes from a 302ci Ford V8, which was rebuilt by Burton Classics with Edelbrock aluminum heads, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, and a custom dual exhaust.While MK I Tigers were originally equipped with a 260ci Ford V8, this example is powered by a 302ci Ford V8 that was rebuilt by Burton Classics with Edelbrock aluminum heads and an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold.This engine is equipped with an electric choke, and both the brake and clutch master cylinders are new.A 5-speed TKO Tiger transmission kit with a Quick Time steel bell housing (Scatter Shield with SFI cert.) was installed, including a Hurst shifter and a new custom driveshaft.Other features include an electric radiator fan and an electric choke, as well as a 3.31 Power Lock limited-slip differential.The exhaust system is comprised of a 4-into-1 header and 2.5″ dual exits.Camber, caster, and bump-steer dynamics are also adjustable, and the complete front suspension package includes the following: Upper/lower A-arms, Spindles/ball joints, Custom tie rod ends, A 1″ sway bar with .188″ wall thickness, New steering U-joints, Adjustable front/rear shocks.An aluminum radiator and thermostatically-controlled electric fan keeps it all cool.A TKO 5-speed manual transmission was also added along with a 3.31 limited-slip differential, all new interior materials, Halibrand-style wheels, Wilwood 4-piston disc brakes, and much more.Norman Miller’s Tiger Registry shows that 3,763 MK I Sunbeam Tigers were produced from April of 1964 through August of 1965.The rotisserie restoration included stripping the body to bare metal before a multi-coat base/clear coat repaint in black was conducted.A color sanding and buff was also completed, and all exterior chrome was re-plated.15×6″ and 15×7″ Halibrand-style wheels wear Toyo Proxes R888 tires measuring 195/50 front and 205/50 rear.Note the included matching hardtop, which was restored at the same time as the body.The soft top frame was refurbished, and new fabric was installed to original specification.Wilwood 4-piston calipers and vented discs have been added at all four corners, and a new windshield was also installed.The interior was reupholstered to original specifications and fitted with all new rubber moldings, grommets, and wiring.The cabin features lap belts and a wood-rimmed, two-spoke steering wheel.Work included connecting and testing all internal switches/gauges, all external lights, safety/grounding checks, and more.The odometer reading of 43,286 miles is the total chassis mileage and the trip odometer showing 424.6miles is the post restoration mileage.
