This ERA 427 is a Shelby Cobra replica that was produced by ERA Replica Automobiles of New Britain, Connecticut, and it is finished in Candy Apple Red over black leather. Power is provided by a 472ci V8 paired with a Toploader close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a Salisbury limited-slip differential with 3.31:1 gears. Features include independent rear suspension from a Jaguar, inboard rear disc brakes, 15″ Halibrand knock-off wheels, Spax adjustable coilovers, four Weber carburetors with velocity stacks, an MSD digital ignition, a Mallory distributor, dual rear-exit exhaust system with Borla Pro XS mufflers, and Stewart Warner gauges.
The 472ci V8 was built by Owen’s Racing Engines, and installed by DriverSource.
Features include a Weiand tunnel-ram intake manifold, four Weber carburetors with chromed velocity stacks and linkages, an MSD digital ignition, an MSD high-torque starter motor, a Mallory distributor, and Ford Racing Super Cobra Jet cylinder heads as well as forged Speed Pro pistons, a Melling high-volume oil pump, Nathaniel’s Performance ceramic-coated headers, and a Comp Cams roller camshaft, rocker arms, and lifters.
The engine and clutch have been installed within the last 1k miles.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Toploader close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a Salisbury limited-slip differential with 3.31:1 gears.
A McLeod Super Street Pro clutch was installed in 2017, and a Lakewood scatter shield has been fitted.
The car is finished in Candy Apple Red and have been repainted in 2018.
Features include a hood scoop, halogen headlamps, a Le Mans-style fuel door, chrome front and rear bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and a dual-outlet exhaust that exits below the rear fascia.
The body have subsequently been stripped and repainted. Xpel paint protection film was applied to the leading edge of the rear fenders, and the car was Feynlab ceramic coated.
The 15″ Halibrand wheels are secured by safety-wired knock-offs and wear older BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes that include inboard-mounted rears, while the fully-independent suspension features A-arms and two adjustable Spax coilovers up front in addition to four at the rear.
Equipment includes twin master cylinders with an adjustable balance bar, front and rear swaybars, polyurethane bushings, and a rack and pinion steering system.
The brake seals, EBC pads, remote bleeder lines, and flexible lines have been installed in 2017, and the inboard brake calipers were rebuilt with stainless steel pistons that same year.
The cockpit features black leather-upholstered bucket seats with a matching dashboard and carpet kit.
Additional equipment includes a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a cabin-mounted fire extinguisher, flip-down sun visors, and latch-and-link lap harnesses for both occupants.
The glovebox door is signed by Carroll Shelby and a fire extinguisher, and battery cut-off switch are installed in the trunk.
The three-spoke Mota-Lita wood steering wheel with a Cobra center cap frames Stewart Warner instrumentation including a tachometer as well as center-mounted gauges for coolant and oil temperature, amperage, fuel level, and fuel pressure.
The 160-mph speedometer contains a five-digit odometer showing 15k miles.
